International Art Photographer - Born in London, England in 1957, I have been a professional photographer for the past 20 years, and an international art photographer for the last 6 years. I now live and work in Paris, France.I work exclusively with the digital medium, and have done so for the last 6 years plus, at which time my focus switched to photographic art. I am inspired by female beauty, particulary Asians, having lived in the Far east for more than half of my life.
I like to work in natural surrounds (away from the studio), using natural light and environment. I often work at two extremes; either low light and long exposures to capture a natural fluidity within the image, or using extreme light and wide exposures to produce a high-definition surreal type image.
Educated in the UK, and later in Continental Europe. I worked for many years as an investment banker with photography very much as my secondary career. In 2000 however I left the banking world and dedicated myself full-time to producing photographic art. With regard to photography and art, I am primarily self-taught, having first picked-up at camera at around the age of 8, my father having been a very keen photographer, and have never really put it down since ! I guess my artistic streak dates back to about the the same time.
My efforts have been rewarded, having won a "Nominee Award" in the 2006 Back and White Spider Awards and another "Nominee Award" in the 2006 International Color Awards (two of the world's most prestigious photographic competitions). These award winning images are currently being exhibited in the "Masters of Photography Exhibition, which openned in Brazil on the 28 October 2006. During the last 6 years I have also exhibited quite extensively around East and South East Asia.
My photographic art has started to catch the eye of many collectors, both individual and corporate and my works are now actively being purchased both for private exhibition and interior design projects for large corporations.
